Radford cutlery wins a Dineus Award and a German Design Award for Q Block

Robert Welch Designs has received two prestigious awards at the Ambiente Trade Fair in Frankfurt. The Radford range of cutlery has won the Classic Cutlery category at the Dineus Grand Prix Tableware 2019 and Signature Q Knife Block received a Special Mention in the German Design Awards.

The Dineus Award recognizes the top achievements of the tableware industry and look for outstanding products in the entire spectrum of tableware. The German Design Award honours innovative products and projects, their manufacturers and designers, which are ground-breaking in the German and international design landscape.

Joint Managing Director, Rupert Welch said: “We are passionately driven to design highly functional, affordable products which possess a timeless elegant beauty. It’s an immensely proud moment to receive another two awards for our work. Radford is based on one of my father’s own designs and bears his middle name and Q Block now has design awards from all over the world. We’re delighted.”

Both Dineus and German Design Award ceremonies were held during the world’s leading trade fair for the industry, Ambiente, in Frankfurt. Ambiente gives a sense of what is shaping the global market and is where the leading manufacturers and buyers of the Dining, Giving and Living sectors gather annually.

Speaking about the Q Block, the German Design jury said:

With its rounded ends on either side and superb use of materials such as wood and stainless-steel the striking shape of this knife block makes it a visually arresting element of any kitchen. A meticulously designed product that’s also notable for the ingenious form-and-function related details integrated into it.

We're still awaiting a comment from the Dineus Jury about the Radford range of cutlery.
